Hello Readers! Today a case came in that was a personal one for me. It gets to the very heart of why I take time to educate many of you about what I do for a living.
Being a Chiropractor for adults is an easy job because as adults, we have a vocabulary that we can use to communicate with each other. It is quite simple to ask you questions, find out what is going on and find the cause of the problem with your body.
When it comes to children, it's a whole other ball game. For reasons that have to do with widespread misinformation by the medical profession, parents are hesitant to bring their child to the Chiropractor. In many cases, parents have no idea that Chiropractic care can help their children as much or more than it helps adults.
"Why would children need to go to the Chiropractor, they're so young?" I get that question a lot. Remember that kids are tiny adults. They go through the same or worse stress than we do. They fall down when they run. They play sports, they ride bikes, they play on the jungle gym or the monkey bars. Kids go through a lot of physical stuff and their joints get out of alignment just like ours do.
So a child has a spine, shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, feet and hands like adults do. These joints can be helped by Chiropractic when problems arise and children are in pain. Chiropractic is extremely safe for all human beings, especially the little ones.
The example today comes from a patient of mine whose son has had lower back pain for 2 months. They have been to the medical doctor, had x-rays take on the lower back (which were negative) and the child is taking advil in order to stave off the pain. Guess what? After an exam and a history, I found out the problem was in his lower back. He needed to be adjusted.
Kids respond quickly to Chiropractic care and it works fantastically for kids. I hope that by reading this and my other article: Kids Need Chiropractic Too, you will see how your children or kids that you know can benefit from Chiropractic care.
Thank you for reading!
